Cookie Policy

Effective Date: [29-05-2026]  ·  Last Updated: June 2025

Pre-Release Notice: Skill Vault is currently in a pre-release, prototype, and testing phase. Cookie usage and this policy may evolve as the Platform matures. See our Disclaimer for full pre-release details.

1. Introduction

This Cookie Policy ("Policy") explains how Skill Vault, operated by SkillBridge Ventures ("Skill Vault", "we", "us", or "our"), uses cookies and similar tracking technologies when you access or use the Skill Vault website, platform, and related services (collectively, the "Platform").

This Policy should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, Terms of Service, and Disclaimer, all of which are incorporated herein by reference.

By continuing to use the Platform, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Cookie Policy. Where applicable law requires your consent for non-essential cookies, we will seek that consent before placing such cookies.

2. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile) by a website when you visit it. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently, to remember your preferences, and to provide information to website operators.

In addition to cookies, we may use similar technologies such as web beacons, pixel tags, local storage, and session storage. This Policy refers to all such technologies collectively as "cookies" unless otherwise specified.

Cookies may be set by the website you are visiting ("first-party cookies") or by third-party services operating on that website ("third-party cookies"). Cookies may persist for the duration of your browser session ("session cookies") or remain on your device for a defined period after the session ends ("persistent cookies").

6. How We Use Cookies

We use cookies for the following purposes:

  • Authentication and Security: To verify your identity, maintain your logged-in session, and protect the Platform against unauthorised access and cross-site request forgery.
  • Platform Functionality: To remember your preferences, save in-progress work (such as program drafts), and ensure the Platform operates correctly across page navigations.
  • Performance and Analytics: To collect anonymised, aggregated data about how users interact with the Platform, enabling us to identify and fix issues and improve features.
  • Email Delivery Diagnostics: To track the delivery status of transactional emails (such as verification and notification emails) for operational reliability purposes only.
  • Infrastructure and Hosting: To support the technical operation of the Platform, including routing, deployment, and edge network performance.

We do not use cookies for targeted advertising, behavioural profiling, or the sale of personal data to third parties.

7. Cookie Duration

Cookies used on the Platform fall into two duration categories:

Session Cookies

Temporary cookies that exist only for the duration of your browser session. They are automatically deleted when you close your browser. Used primarily for authentication state and security tokens.

Persistent Cookies

Cookies that remain on your device for a defined period (ranging from 24 hours to 2 years depending on the cookie). Used for preferences, session renewal, and analytics. Specific durations are listed in Sections 4 and 5 above.

8. Managing and Controlling Cookies

You have the right to control which non-essential cookies are placed on your device. You may manage cookies in the following ways:

Browser Settings

Most browsers allow you to view, manage, block, and delete cookies through their settings. Please note that blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent the Platform from functioning correctly and you will not be able to log in or use core features.

Third-Party Opt-Outs

For third-party analytics cookies (such as Google Analytics), you may opt out using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. For other third-party providers, please refer to the privacy policy links in Section 5.

Do Not Track

Some browsers support a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. The Platform currently does not alter its behaviour in response to DNT signals, as there is no universally accepted standard for how platforms should respond to such signals.

Important: Disabling or deleting strictly necessary cookies (such as authentication and security cookies) will prevent you from logging in and using the Platform. We recommend retaining these cookies for normal Platform use.

9. Pre-Release Status and Cookie Changes

As the Skill Vault Platform is currently in a pre-release, prototype, and testing phase, the cookies and tracking technologies we use may change as the Platform evolves. We may add, modify, or remove cookies as new features are developed or as third-party integrations change.

We will update this Cookie Policy to reflect any material changes. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page will be revised accordingly. Continued use of the Platform following any update constitutes your acknowledgement of the revised Policy.

For full details on the pre-release status of the Platform, please refer to our Disclaimer.
